Information theory is one of the primary disciplines shaping our current technological landscape. Ever since Claude Shannon published ‘A Mathematical Theory of Communication’ new breakthroughs have been occurring at an ever-increasing rate. Information is all around and efficiently transmitting and receiving that information in the form of data is at the core of many modern software and hardware systems.

I believe blockchain is one innovation that will exponentially increase the speed at which we innovate around the domain encompassed by information theory. By providing a mechanism for signed-immutable-proof, the system is poised to act as an augmentation for both memory, and consensus.
